I have recently won two categories of the new British Wildlife Photography awards. My gannet portrait won the animal portrait category and a shot of a lone fallow deer buck at dawn won the habitat. I also received two highly commended awards, one for a gannet in flight (coast and marine category) and one for an image of two stags fighting (animal behaviour).
The ceremony was a nice chance to reacquaint myself with some familiar faces as well as meet some new people, and what an amazing collection of images!
I have just taken a group of 8 – family and attachments – to Nunnington Hall to see the last day of the exhibition of natural history winners. Fabulous and very inspiring for all of us. One of my boys hopes to hang your stag at dawn on his wall and I may try to bring another son on a workshop. Many thanks for the pleasure you have given. Tim
If you busy with this northern extension exhibition next year it might be good to provide marketing details as I understand many were interested to buy/order prints. Not your primary motivation I am sure!
Having been at your excellent presentation to Dundee Photographic Society on monday night (25.01.10), it comes as no surprise that you scoop up numerous awards. The pictures you discussed on Monday were simply stunning! Every one of them! I will now follow your progress with interest and look forward to seeing your future work.
